Brand and Fox Work on Lafayette Wastewater Treatment Project Funds

MN Rep. Jeff Brand and Utility Manager Al Fox Spearhead Effort to Secure Funds for Wastewater Treatment Project in Lafayette in State Bonding Bill

The Minnesota House will consider funding Lafayette’s wastewater treatment upgrade project to remain in compliance with standards as well as keep drinking water safe for its residents. State Rep. Jeff Brand (DFL - Saint Peter) is leading the charge on the issue for his district, 18A. The funds aim to reduce levels of disinfection byproduct levels at the wastewater treatment plant. 

“This funding would help address problems through a citywide water softener, ensuring safe drinking water for the people of Lafayette,” Brand said. 

The city of Lafayette’s Public Works and Maintenance Supervisor Al Fox has been taking the helm on the issues with the city’s water issues, working on the RSO project, writing grants and so forth.... Continued on Page 5 of the Nicollet County Ledger May 5, 2024 edition.
